Carson was born in 1997 to Doug and Carol Wright, themselves a photographer and an actress. He grew up in Dallas, Texas and took an interest in acting in his early teens. He auditioned for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, formerly the Dallas Arts Magnet, and was accepted, cutting his teeth on the craft and continuing to rigorously study theatre throughout his youth. He graduated high school in 2015.
Strengthening his roots in Dallas, Carson attended the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University to pursue a B.F.A. in Theatre, double-majoring to get a B.A. in Political Science. During college he began working professionally in North Texas regional theatre. In 2019, he graduated, signed with the Kim Dawson Agency, and began working towards union membership through Equity's EMC program. Carson now lives in New York City and is furthering his career as an artist in theatre, film and television.
Carson has also cultivated a sharp interest in civic engagement, devoting much of his time outside of the arts to electoral politics. He is an alum of the 2018 Colin Allred for Congress campaign, passionately volunteered for both of Bernie Sanders's presidential bids, and served as a Deputy Field Director with The Outreach Team in Wisconsin during the 2020 general election, contributing to President Trump's defeat in the crucial midwestern state.
